I have had a long time passion for cooking and grilling, and elevating the flavors and adding depth and layers to the foods that I cook. I was searching for a BBQ sauce that would add that to my foods, but could not find one that satisfied my flavor expectations. So, I began experimenting with making my own sauce which would allow me to do just that. In my home kitchen I experimented with batch after batch, testing and tasting each time to find the flavor profile I was looking for.

As I began to share foods with my developing sauce, I quickly reached a point at which my guests repeatedly commented that I should bottle and sell that flavor. I was invited to offer my sauce to pair with a food booth at local events, and it was selling well, until I was informed by the management that I did not have the appropriate licensing in that region to sell at these events and was told that I was basically selling it on the “black market” and would need to discontinue. This experience led me to the next level of development and production, and of course the name BLACKMARKET BBQ. The rest, as they say, is history.
